Publication of a script excerpt and appendices in BYU Studies
We are excited to announce that an excerpt of the script has been published (available online for now, in advance of the next printed edition) by BYU Studies journal. With a short introduction by the playwrights, the excerpt is then followed by an appendix, offering audiences and readers the chance to explore many more stories from people that we interviewed. The stories in the appendices were edited by the playwrights or by students in one of our verbatim theatre classes, and many of them were actually part of previous versions of the script.
As writers, it was so hard to make final decisions about which stories would stay in the final script, and which had to be cut. But this publication and the continued sharing of so many additional tender, faithful stories represent yet another "beautiful thing" about this project.
